StockWise Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 3, 2026StockWise ("the app," "we," "us") is an educational app that teaches how stock markets work. This policy explains what information the app handles. The short version: StockWise has no accounts, collects no personal information, and stores your preferences only on your own device.Information we do NOT collect- No name, email address, phone number, or account of any kind
- No location data
- No contacts, photos, or files
- No advertising identifiers
- No analytics or tracking SDKs
- We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with anyone — we do not have any to sell
Information stored on your device onlyThe app saves your preferences locally on your phone using standard iOS app storage. This includes your chosen difficulty level and language, your Academy points, ranks, and streaks, your free-tier usage counters, and any ticker symbols you add to the "My Money" list. This information never leaves your device as part of a profile — we cannot see it, and deleting the app deletes all of it.Ticker symbols you add represent only the symbols themselves. The app never asks for, stores, or transmits dollar amounts, account balances, or brokerage information of any kind.Information our servers processWhen the app requests market data or an explanation, our server (hosted on Vercel) receives the content of the request — for example, a ticker symbol, a chosen difficulty level, or a question you typed. These requests are not linked to any account or identity, because none exists.Like virtually all internet services, our hosting provider records standard server logs, which include IP addresses and request timestamps. We use these only for operating and securing the service.Third-party services- To do its job, our server (never your device directly) communicates with:
Market data providers (such as Finnhub, Financial Modeling Prep, the Federal Reserve Economic Data service, and the U.S. Treasury) to fetch prices, calendars, and economic statistics. Your identity is never sent to them.
- AI language-model providers (such as Groq and Google) to generate educational explanations. The text of the request (for example, a ticker symbol and a question) is sent for processing; no identity or device information accompanies it.
- Apple, which distributes the app and, if paid subscriptions are offered in the future, would process all purchases. We would never see your payment details; subscription management would follow Apple's own privacy practices.
ChildrenStockWise is an educational app suitable for general audiences. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information at all.Changes to this policyIf our practices change — for example, if a future version adds optional accounts — we will update this policy and its effective date before those changes take effect.ContactQuestions about this policy: [email protected]
